The end of the year is drawing near and Edguy wants to take the opportunity to thank their fans for a wonderful year 2010. While frontman Tobias and drummer Felix are still on the road with the Avantasia project the rest of the Edguys are heading for their well deserved vacation. 2010 has been a successful touring year for Edguy, having played various single shows, a UK-tour in March, headlining one night at Wacken Open Air, having played Spain with Iron Maiden and having done an extensive tour with Germany's legendary Scorpions. Especially that tour will remain a great memory for both, Edguy and their fans.

On September 9th Edguy will return to Hungary to headline one night at Fezen Festival, Szekesfehervar. Check the tour section for further upcoming shows.

It has taken quite some time but finally the official Edguy gear shop is online. At www.edguy-shop.de you will find many official merchandise items like T-shirts, sweat shirts, underwear, CDs, DVDs and old rarities. And furthermore we are currently working on presenting you additional designs, special offers, remnants and many new articles.

During Edguy’s Wacken Open Air appearance on Saturday, August 7th Helloween’s bassist Markus Großkopf joined the band on stage for the two songs “Lavatory Love Machine” and “Superheroes”. Seeming like a spontaneous idea to the majority of the 70.000 spectators it had been planned a few weeks ago already: Großkopf had prepared the whole set and was ready to stand in for Edguy bass player Tobias Exxel whose girlfriend is expecting to have their first baby and who had to be ready to leave the festival any time. Markus Großkopf will definitely join Edguy to England this weekend also and depending on the baby’s schedule to Valencia.

On August 21st Edguy will return to Spain as special guest of New-Wave-of-British-Heavy-Metal legend Iron Maiden at Auditorio Marina Sur in Valencia. And a circle seems to shut: Ten years ago Iron Maiden had given Edguy the opportunity to play some of the first stadium shows in their career. It might bring up some great memories and Edguy are looking forward to going on before Maiden and playing for their Spanish fans again. The last time Edguy had been to Spain was during the Tinnitus Sanctus tour in January 2009. In Valencia the band hasn't been since April 2004.
